Deconstructed City 1984-1985

Darling Harbour, Sydney, photographed in 1984 during a massive re-development period. The railway tracks, which once brought wool, other primary produce and resources to ships in the harbour were entirely ripped up. At the same time vehicle fly-over roads were being constructed to take traffic from and to the centre of the city and suburbs. There were over ten major excavations for tall office buildings around this part of Sydney Harbour, and even more elsewhere in the city. I photographed on weekends, wandering over it above and below – quite unhindered.
